Marla Sabo - Partner

In addition to her role as Partner at Fireman Capital, Marla also serves as Vice Chairman to Hudson Clothing, LLC and is on the Board of Directors for Serena & Lily.

Prior to her advisory work Ms. Sabo served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Christian Dior Couture Americas from  2001 to 2006.  She had been responsible for the image/strategic brand development, implementation of the retail network, and development of the external business network.  During her tenure the Company quintupled its business while maintaining its allure as one of the most sophisticated luxury brands in the market today. 

Ms. Sabo moved to Dior from Hermes, where she was Senior Vice-President of Sales and Merchandising.  While at Hermes, she worked closely with Paris to implement a central organization to meet the needs of long term business development, and to support the needs of the growing retail network.  The subsidiary at that time was ranked #1 internally in the world versus other zones. This position followed an extensive 10-year retailing career at Saks Fifth Avenue, where she was Vice-President, Divisional Merchandise Manager for all European and American Designer Ready-to-Wear collections.  She was responsible for the increase in Designer presence at Saks during the tenure of Mr. Philip Miller and Ms. Rose Marie Bravo, worked on the strategic acquisition of the I. Magnin stores on the West Coast, and partnered to establish internal business synergies/cross-category strength in stores (Designer shoes, Designer handbags).  Ms. Sabo's New York career started at Bergdorf Goodman, where she began as a buyer.

Ms. Sabo holds a Bachelor of Science in French/Secondary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pennsylvania and has also completed Masters Studies in Arts/Art History 20th Century from the Universite de la Sorbonne in Paris, France.

Ms. Sabo is active in several not-for-profit organizations.  She is a founder and board member of the Luxury Education Foundation, which supports interdisciplinary work between Columbia Business School and Parsons School of Design.  She has raised funding for research on womens health issues, most notably for the Entertainment Industry Foundation for Womens Cancer Research at UCLA.  She serves on the Board of the New York Landmarks Conservancy, and was recently appointed to the board of the Foundation for IUP, which manages the university endowment and directs development efforts.
